What we check
Email us the page the badge is on. We look for a link back to your Toolvern profile, or for the embed — either counts. If it is there, your outbound link becomes followed.
After that the page is re-checked automatically. A single miss changes nothing: sites go down and deploys break markup, and one bad afternoon is not a broken promise. The link reverts only after three consecutive checks find nothing, and we write to you before it does.
The first check, the one that turns the link followed, still goes through a person — allow a day or two. Everything after it is a script.
We do not require the badge to be above the fold, in the header, or on the home page. A footer, an about page or a tools page is fine. What we do require is that the page is reachable without a login and is not itself blocked from crawling.
What this does not buy
The same thing paying does not buy: your position in listings, your description, or what the rings on your card say. Those come from published criteria and from your own pricing page. The badge changes one attribute on one link.
